Day 1

Thursday, February 14, 2019

 

ARRIVAL & ORIENTATION

Get excited for one of the most famous cities in the world – New York City. Once you’ve arrived, check into a hotel located in mid-Manhattan in one of New York’s most dynamic areas. Make sure to present your Formal Admission Letter to one of our Youth Assembly Representatives for the Youth Assembly registration and attend Orientation that evening to prepare for the Youth Assembly.

Tip: Check-in will be at the hotel from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM.  However, please note that you will not be able to enter your room until 2:00 PM when your room is ready. Please note that there will be no meal arrangement for this day, so feel free to explore food shops around the area.

 

Day 2

Friday, February 15, 2019

YOUTH ASSEMBLY SIDE ACTIVITIES  & OFFICIAL OPENING CEREMONY

Start the day off with a guided tour of the United Nations headquarters led by their staff. Feel the powerful influence of prestigious meeting venues such as the General Assembly Hall and Security Council, where high-level debates and meetings happen, and discover their work behind-the-scenes.

Proceed to the Permanent Mission Visit & Briefing and learn first hand the work of a UN Permanent Mission towards achieving the SDGs. Prepare for a Q&A with the Mission’s diplomats.

Then, network and engage with your fellow delegates as well as development organizations, campaigns, and universities at the Delegates’ Opportunities Fair.

In the evening, commence the Youth Assembly during its official Opening Ceremony together with over 1,000 youth from around the world. The Opening Ceremony will feature inspirational and keynote speeches by key luminaries and leaders in youth and global development.

Tip: Please wear the appropriate dress code (business casual). Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be arranged for this day.

 

Day 3

Saturday, February 16, 2019

YOUTH ASSEMBLY SESSIONS I

Attend panel and workshop sessions lead by UN officials or heads/representatives of non-governmental organizations, corporations, or local government. Join the conversation about the challenges the world is facing and identify opportunities and solutions for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

In the evening, attend the Gala an exclusive event which includes a Reception, Show, and Dance. The Gala be attended by invited speakers and guests from our partner organizations, United Nations, Permanent Missions, and more. The event will feature performances by musical groups and end the night with a dance party.

Tip: Please wear the appropriate dress code (business casual). Breakfast, and dinner will be arranged for this day. Lunch will be on your own. 

 

Day 4

Sunday, February 17, 2019

YOUTH ASSEMBLY SESSIONS II and Closing Ceremony

Continue with the final day of panel discussion and workshops Don’t miss the last chance to connect with speakers, and participate in engaging sessions!

In the evening, conclude your Youth Assembly experience with the official Closing Ceremony. Celebrate the winners of the competitions that occurred throughout the Youth Assembly.

Tip: Please wear the appropriate dress code (business casual). Please note that only breakfast will be arranged for this day. Lunch is on your own.

 

Day 5

Monday, February 18, 2019

DEPARTURE

Don’t forget to explore the city’s iconic landmarks such as Times Square, the Empire State Building, and its museums before checking out. Take with you the meaningful experiences and memorable friendships you’ve earned along the way. Return home with the knowledge and drive to make global impact starting with your community!

Tip: Make sure to check out of your hotel room by 12:00 PM. You can store your luggage with the hotel bellman if you wish to depart later (Suggested tip: $1 to store and $1 pick-up per bag). Please note that only breakfast will be arranged for this day.
