For the first time, the global community has recognized the centrality of children to address global poverty. As part of the new SDGs proposed to end poverty, the new agenda aims to eradicate extreme poverty and reduce at least by half the proportion of men, women and children of all ages living in poverty in all dimensions by 2030. This session will highlight why children are crucial in the fight against global poverty, and organize a range of group activities to support youth raise awareness and take action in their communities and countries to end child poverty in all its dimensions.
UNICEF promotes the rights and wellbeing of every child, in everything we do. Together with our partners, we work in 190 countries and territories to translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded children, to the benefit of all children, everywhere.
