Intern, Communications & Media

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Communications Specialist in planning media and communication strategies
  • Create and post content for social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Conduct research on social media trends and competitive insights
  • Answer delegate inquiries via phone, email, and social media platforms
  • Engage and interact with the online community
  • Compile information from the Programme Development team to update all relevant channels of communication
  • Assist in contacting media representatives
  • Draft and proofread press releases and other communications vehicles as needed
  • Maintain digital files of photos, videos, and text content
  • Assist with video content development
  • Help coordinate the media hub and other media/documentation activities during the conference
  • Collect and archive media coverage
  • Assist with other miscellaneous tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of relevant internship is required; work experience preferred
  • Must have a Journalism background/training
  • Must be savvy in various social media platforms
  • Photography, video editing, and graphic design experience preferred
  • Values accuracy and proper citation
  • Must be able to work under strict deadlines
  • Has creative approach to solving problems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; phone etiquette
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, photo and video editing applications
  • Strong attention to detail, time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently or within a team
  • Global perspective and strong cultural awareness
