Realizing the 2030 Agenda: Youth in Action

Following the first year of implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the 19th session of the Youth Assembly at the United Nations will assist young people in examining their evolving role in realizing the agenda through numerous engaging panels and interactive workshops. Youth delegates will also have the opportunity to deliberate and propose an action plan on how young people can contribute to the success of the 2030 Agenda.

Building upon the momentum from the previous session, the upcoming conference will take a closer look at three key topics – poverty eradication, quality education, and responsible consumption and production – while exploring the integrated nature of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Discussions will cover the progress and challenges in realizing the agenda, and will touch upon the present day humanitarian crises and their impacts on global development. Recognizing the importance of youth capacity-building in ensuring young people’s meaningful participation in both local and global development, the conference will also focus on quality youth development and engagement sessions.
